Zu Bar DJ's

Hey all my names Mitch but most people call me Frenchy, being local to Ringwood I started going out on the Ringwood strip 6 years ago when it was in part of its prime. Ultimately I fell in love with minimal music as it was so big at the time, then ventured out to city clubs and events, mainly Tramp Mercy as that was unbeaten. I couldn’t get enough of the minimal in that joint but it all started at whip and Zu Bar. I never really thought about becoming a DJ until we were on a camping trip with a big group of people and we threw a bush doof with one of my mates Jesse on the decks. Watching people enjoy themselves so much to what he was doing made me want to learn so on the next trip I did. If it wasn’t for him I never would have got in to it and I spent countless hours learning from him and then just practicing on my own to find my sound and improve myself. My first set was at Baby in Ringwood, then Zu Bar. After that it was playing at different venues and events including Tramp which still amazes me. I play a few different genres including tech house, techno, minimal and psytrance. But minimal will always be my favourite genre as that’s what started it all for me. Outside of spinning the decks I’m a big Carlton supporter and also play footy at Yarra Junction, play basketball and love going away whenever I can!
